Hello again! How may students do you have in each group? Do you have the same amount when you have vocational theory classes as classes in the workshop?
At the start the first year there is about 30 in each class but a few drop out. We try to make the groups smaller in the workshop but it´s not always possible.
Do your students work for an employer at the same time as they're studying? If so, what relationship does the teacher/school have with the employer, and how do you work together to support student learning?
No they don´t. We feel that having the students in our workshop with teachers monitoring and supporting them gives them better skills. However the projects they work on are on commission from real customers and built to their specifications.
We teach them to make simple molds and how to use readymixed concrete. The focus is on the carpentryskills but they also learn basic plastering and how to erect walls from concrete blocks.
Hi Jesper! You wrote earlier that you could have classes with up to 30 students, can all be in the workshop at the same time or do you split the group? If you have everyone in the shop at the same time then you are more teachers also or?

DeleteWhen do they do workplace based learning (APL)? In year two and three?
