Photo 4

The buldning of the brickwalls have started. Many of the students have discoverd that there were more difficulties than they had imagined. Measurements must be accurate, bricks shall be kept clean, the wall should be straight and the joints should be neat.

  1. Lars! This is great! Have you thought of using photos as documentation of the skills? Like a portfolio? What do you think the students would say about that? The skills and the development is really showing itself in your photos.

    1. Hi Ingrid! I used to work a lot with photodocumentation, it was intersting for me and appriciated by the students, however it´s been harder and harder to find the time. Today we are fewer teachers educating more students.

    2. I see, and I know of the teacher shortages. But I was thinking about your students. Every body has a camera - I was thinking about how skills development and progress manifests itself in pictures.

  2. Do you find that some of the students need to knock it all down and start again because of inaccurate measurements etc? Are your students working with an employer at the same time as they're studying?

    1. Hi Susanne! The students you see in the photos are in their first grade and just beginners so we think it´s more important they try to do their best. The accurasy and skill will come with experience if they have the right attitude. The student are not employed but in their second and third grade they will have 30 weeks of practice in constructioncompanies.
